Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer has gained his wide experience in the field of SCM working for several organizations including BMW in Dingolfing, Sauer-Sundstrand in Neumuenster and Bremer Vulkan Werft. Since 1999 he has been working for the German Logistics Association (BVL) in Bremen, first as a member of the Executive Board and since 2004 as its chair. He is also chair of the curatorship of the Deutsche Außenhandels- und Verkehrsakademie (DAV). He is a highly appreciated lecturer on logistics. In 2009 he received an honorary professorship from Bremen University.

He has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the CEMS Master’s from LSE and the Stockholm School of Economics.
