Czech Republic: Cargo transport drops by 6.5% in Q3
E15, 12 Jan 2017, online:-
The volume of cargo transported on Czech roads decreased by 6.5% to 116mn tons in the third quarter of 2016 against the same period of 2015. It was the first drop since the second quarter of 2013. The third quarter of the year tends to have the strongest volumes. However, it is estimated that the overall 2016 volume of around 400mn tons will be above average. The Cesmad Bohemia association says that the drop could have been caused by a high comparison base from 2015 when national transport grew due to high volumes of construction works or due to a large number of production halts in Germany, lack of drivers or issues in France, Russia and Turkey.
