Estonia: CEO of Eesti Raudtee expects Estonia to benefit from Rail Baltica

Erik Laidvee, CEO of the railway company Eesti Raudtee, recommends high school students to aim for specialties tied to the 1,435mm gauge railway, in an effort to have experts ready for Eesti Raudtee once the Rail Baltica railway is launched. Laidvee said that Eesti Raudtee has specialists for the 1,522 mm gauge width railway. Laidvee said that Eesti Raudtee was also seeking to operate trains loaded with Finnish timber and paper to the Adriatic and Black sea from Muuga terminal in Estonia. The CEO said that after a six years break, the ro-ro connection between Muuga and Vuosaari would be restored.
