France: EUR 357mn extension to the Port-la-Nouvelle port
L'Usine Nouvelle, 30 Nov 2017, online:-
A land and sea extension to the Mediterranean Port-la-Nouvelle (Aude) port (southern France) will be built for Spring 2020. The extension aims to double traffic to 4 million tons. The extension will cost EUR 357mn (USD 426.56mn) and includes a new port basin, allowing ships up to 225 metres long and 36 m wide to dock and unload heavy packages. The port will be used to unload offshore wind turbines and the Port-la-Nouvelle will be a base for the EolMed and EFGL Engie offshore wind farms. Construction will begin in the fall of 2018 after a public inquiry.
