Germany: Inland ports in Saxony-Anhalt see decline in goods handled in 2016

The inland ports in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt saw a 3.7% decline in goods handled to 7.2mn tonnes in 2016, according to the statistical office in Halle, Germany. Around one third of the goods handled were agricultural, forestry and fishery products. However, the decline in the handling of these goods amounted to 19%. The handling of ores, rocks and soils, as well as other mining products grew.
