In 2017, a Belt and Road summit will be held to plan the Belt and Road Initiative's blueprint, strengthen development strategies between China and other parties, and look into business opportunities. China-Europe trains have been running almost 2,000 times between the two destinations by June 2016, with USD 17bn (EUR 15.14bn) in total import and export value recorded.
In Myanmar, bids to construct a deep-sea port and an industrial park in Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone were won by a consortium of six companies led by CITIC of China. The postponed Colombo Port City in Pakistan has also received an approval to proceed. Construction of the Hungary-Serbia railroad will begin soon, while the China-Belarus industrial park was being developed.
