Latvia: Govt would support private LNG terminal in Skulte: minister
The Baltic Course, 17 Jul 2017, online:-
A liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Latvia's port of Skulte would have a great technological advantage, Latvia's Minister of Economy, Arvils Aseradens, stated. Speaking in an interview with LETA, Mr Aseradens noted that the port of Skulte was a short distance from Latvia's underground gas storage facility in Incukalns. The Latvian government could support private investors willing to invest in building a LNG terminal in Skulte, he said. At the same time, the minister pointed out that gas consumption was declining in the Baltic and Finnish markets.
