Norway: Oslo wants to intoduce fees for old trucks and buses
Aftenposten, 06 Jul 2017, online:-
The city council of Oslo has issued an exposure draft, proposing that polluting older heavy vehicles, such as trucks and buses, will have to pay a fee before they can legally drive in Oslo. Prices for trucks under 12 tonnes are suggested to be NOK 300 (EUR 31.44 USD 35.85) per day, NOK 4,000 a month and NOK 25,000 a year. If the vehicle is over 12 tonnes, prices will be doubled. For newer vehicles with Euroclass 6 engine, there will not be any fee. The purpose of the proposal is to improve air quality in Oslo and Oslo Municipality wants to have the low-emission zone in place before the winter of 2017/2018.
