Norwegian shipping companies that transport dry goods have started to see an upturn in their market, which has been at the bottom for several years due to overcapacity. Herman Billung, CEO of Norwegian shipping company Songa Bulk says the first quarter of 2016, the dry bulk market hit rock bottom but with a better balance between supply and demand, earnings have risen for dry bulk shipping companies. In 2016 and 2017, very few new ships have been ordered, Billung says.
