Poland: UPS opens new package facility in Myslowice as part of Europe expansion
CEP Research, 24 May 2017, online:-
US-based delivery company, United Parcel Service (UPS), has launched a new 11,000-square-meter package facility in Myslowice, Poland. The new facility, which will also have a new customer call center, will increase hourly sorting capacity to up to 6,000 packages, with parking positions for 170 package vehicles. The new facility will replace the older package facility in Katowice. Part of the reason behind the latest expansion in Poland was the increase in export volume of over 20% in the first quarter of 2017 by UPS, which plans for a USD 2bn (EUR 1.78bn) expansion programme in Europe. The ASL Airlines jet B737-300, which is UPS's European air hub in Cologne, provides UPS with a 25% expansion in cargo capacity to Katowice as of 3 April 2017.
