Poland/Ukraine: Countries seal rail transport co-operation agreement

CEOs of the Ukrainian and Polish rail companies, UZ and PKP, signed an agreement regarding the binary co-operation between the companies in organising international transport services. Both passenger and freight transports between the countries rose in the first half of 2017, as reported by during the meeting held on 4 August 2017. The companies also discussed the possibilities of involvement in infrastructure projects in Ukraine. Additionally, the volume of freight transports on the New Silk Route, an alternative route for transports from China and Iran to Europe, was forecast to rise during the meeting.
