Karolina Boholm, Transport Director at the Swedish Forest Industries Federation (Skogsindustrierna), has welcomed the decision by the Swedish government to increase the allowed weight limit for trucks to 74 tonnes in some parts of the road transport network. She says that it will now be possible to launch more effective transports in the forestry industry which will result in lower emissions, fewer heavy vehicles on the roads and improved traffic safety.
