The Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) has proposed stricter subcontracting liability regulations for the transport sector in a recent report presented to the government. This includes a clearly stated requirement in transport companies to investigate employed subcontractors to detect legislation breaches. It is also proposed that all agents in the contracting chain can be held responsible for regulation breaches.
