The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) will grant SEK 22mn (EUR 2.27mn USD 2.50mn) to an upgrading of the railway line between Malung and Malungsfors as well as the construction of a new reloading terminal in Malungsfors. The upgrading will result in an estimated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of about 8,000 tonnes annually as road transports will be rerouted to railway.
