Sweden: MSC warns of major capacity reduction in the Port of Gothenburg
Göteborgs Posten, 14 Jun 2017, online:-
Shipping company MSC warned of reducing its capacity by 50% in the Port of Gothenburg as of week 25 [commencing 19 June]. The company is one of the port's largest customers. This is due to the conflict between Swedish container terminal operator APM Terminals and trade union Svenska Hamnarbetarförbundet. CEO Morten Möller Weisdal noted that this will have a major impact on Swedish transports. MSC 's direct routes from Asia stopped traffic already in May 2017. Companies such as Lindex, Akzo Nobel and SKF have already selected other transport routes.
