Sweden: National Audit Office criticises infrastructure priorities
Svensk Åkeritidning, 24 Nov 2017, online:-
The Swedish government and the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) have received criticism from the Swedish National Audit Office (Riksrevisionen) regarding their priorities in expanding national infrastructure in line with the EU strategy. An investigation conducted by the Office shows that this could mean a setback for the EU plans to ensure high-quality transport corridors throughout the EU by 2030 at the latest. National Auditor Ingvar Mattsson states that the Swedish government should have been more active regarding its governance of the Transport Administration, and that further measures with proper planning will be necessary. The Office also wants the government to clearly specify how to integrate the EU targets with the existing national infrastructure plan.
