Sweden: Pilot project for climate impact data standard in transports
Infrastrukturnyheter, 12 Jun 2017, online:-
In Sweden, administration software developer Hogia has collaborated with Swedish truck manufacturers Volvo Trucks and Scania, the Swedish Association of Road Transport Companies (Sveriges Åkeriföretag) and road transport company Bellmans Åkeri och Entreprenad for developing a standard for transfers of digital environmental data in the transport industry. This has resulted in a pilot project in which Bellmans Åkeri och Entreprenad will test the solution. Fuel consumption data will be collected continuously from Volvo and Scania trucks via standard format FMS/rFMS. This data will be coupled with individual order data and handled by the system BEAst Eco from organisation Beast. This will make it possible for transport companies to monitor climate impact including carbon dioxide emissions in each specific assignment.
