Sweden: Port of Gothenburg conflict might result in change in legislation
Dagens Industri, 23 May 2017, online:-
The Swedish government has considered changes in legislation and possible restrictions to the right for industrial actions following a troublesome and protracted labour dispute between employer Danish container terminal company APM Terminals and Swedish Dockworkers' Union at the Port of Gothenburg. An investigation will be conducted to assess situations were actions are taken without connection to labour agreement negotiations, according to Swedish Minister for Employment Ylva Johansson. According to Johan Trouvé CEO of the West Sweden Chamber of Commerce, the situation in the Port of Gothenburg has implications on the entire business community.
