Sweden: 'Road network should be deregulated'
Dagens Industri, 16 Oct 2016, online:-
In an editorial, the newspaper writes that Swedish legislation should be changed so part of the European Road network could be deregulated and taken over by private players. This is expected to speed up investments in electric roads, similar to Scandia's NextGen project in the province of Gästrikland.
Political decisions are required to develop major Swedish roads into electric roads for heavy transports, according to the editorial. The Swedish Transport Agency (Trafikverket) is not considered having sufficient means to build the infrastructure.
