Sweden: Stena Line vessels to connect to onshore power grid in Trelleborg
Svensk Åkeritidning, 24 Oct 2017, online:-
Swedish shipping and ferry company Stena Line will be the first player to connect vessels to the onshore power grid during stays at the Port of Trelleborg. The two vessels M/S Skåne and M/S Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will now be connected to the power grid, resulting in zero emissions and environmental benefits which are part of company ambitions. In 2016, all Stena Line port grid connections accounted for a CO2 emission reduction of 12,500 tonnes. Niclas Mårtensson, CEO at Stena Line, states that the company aims for 25% of the ports that Stena Line visits will be connected by 2020, followed by 75% by 2030.
