Sweden: Strike may affect railway transport heavily
Bransch Nyheter, 03 May 2017, online:-
The Swedish Building Maintenance Workers' Union (Fastighets) has announced that a strike will be initiated as the result of the ongoing wage negotiation conflict with employers' organisation Almega. The conflict affects about 1,000 members of the Swedish Union for Service and Communications Employees (SEKO), and the strike will have a significant impact on railway transport if it becomes reality. It will involve employees in passenger railway operators SJ and MTR as well as iron ore transports on the Malmbanan line operated by mining company LKAB. The proposed strike is based on three phases with the first to be launched on 12 May.
