According to a survey by the German federal association of goods traffic, logistics and waste disposal BGL, 23% of companies active in the road freight transport sector increased their turnovers in the third quarter of 2016. A total of 17.5% of companies reported a decline. Around 16.5% of respondents described their operating results as good and 18% as bad. Vehicle capacity increased for 17.5% of companies. However, the utilisation rate was 14%. Around 19.5% of companies expect further declines in vehicle utilisation in future. Only 13.5% expect an improved utilisation rate. For the coming months 16.5% of respondents said that they expect to record increases in turnover and 23% expect a decline. Around 11.5% of companies expects their operating results to increase and 17% expect them to decrease.
