Swedish ATM services provider Bankomat plans to open up 80 new cash handling centres before the end of the year, despite the growing trend with alternative payment solutions. Johanna Holst, head of communications at Bankomat, states there stil exists a significant demand for ATM services, especially as most banks have now discontinued this service. She further says that while ATMs while not be as readily available in the future, customers could instead be travelling to major cities or closely located shopping malls to handle cash-related errands.
