The chairman of the regional transport association Sveriges Åkeriföretag Västra Götaland, Morgan Stahlgård, stated that the conflict between Swedish container terminal operator APM Terminals and harbour trade organisation Svenska Hamnarbetarförbundet will have a negative long-term impact on the transport companies in Gothenburg port. 60% of imported and exported containers pass through the port, which is the largest in Scandinavia. Due to strikes, transport company owners and drivers have to wait for several hours, entailing both economic losses and changed social situation.
