The demand for automation in warehouses in the Netherlands increases and changes to more flexible and adjustable solutions in order to reduce the risks of investment. A new generation of robotics will be introduced for warehousing. The robots are smart and independent order pickers, but are not yet skilled at working alongside employees. New services include stock taking, according to Detlef Spee of the German institute for logistics Fraunhofer IML, and new robots and solutions will be introduced at the trade fair Logistica between 28 and 30 November 2017.
