Estonia: Paldiski northern port plans building deep-water dock

The port operator Paldiski Pohjasadam (Paldiski northern port) of the offshore CNP Investment N.V., the Estonian private port operator, Paldiski Sadamate, has applied for the acquisition of 18,000 sq,meters of land in Paldiski for the development of the deep-water dock, investing EUR 20mn in the project. The new deep-water dock is expected to increase the port's cargo handling and the deep-water container terminal to be capable to accommodate large container vessels. In addition, the deep-water dock terminal would create 100 new jobs.
Paldiski Sadamate has suffered combined loss is estimated to reach nearly EUR 50mn since 2008. The company suffered a EUR 3.4mn loss on sales revenue totaling EUR 11mn for 2016.
