EU: Rules on minimum wage deemed discriminatory by road hauliers
Pravda, 17 Oct 2017, online:-
Road hauliers associations in Europe, including Slovak association CESMAD, continue to criticise the new EU regulations governing minimum wages in Austria, France and Germany. The laws are said to be too bureaucratic and difficult to implement, and their alignment with European law has been questioned. The regulations involve many administrative requirements, including document submissions, which are practically impossible to comply with and therefore incur penalties for non-compliance. Hauliers are calling the new rules discriminatory, and contrary to EU principles of free movement of goods and people, having negotiated only partial changes to them.
