Germany: DB Schenker, MAN and Fresnius receive funding for lorry project
Süddeutsche Zeitung, 10 Jul 2017, online:-
The German logistics firm DB Schenker, the German truck and bus manufacturer MAN and the Germany-based Fresenius University of Applied Sciences have announced that they are to receive EUR 2mn (USD 2.28mn) in funding from the German ministry of transport for their connected lorry project. The idea behind the project is to test the electronic connection of the vehicles to allow them to safely travel in close convoy and free up space on the roads. The technology will be tested in spring 2018 on the A9 motorway between Nuremberg and Munich.
