Germany: Kombiverkehr expands rail services

The German intermodal transport provider Kombiverkehr is launching a new direct train service between the Duisburger Hafen port in Germany and the CCT terminals at Moerdijk port in the Netherlands. The service will be available from 10 January 2017. Initially three services per week will be operated, but the company is aiming to increase the number to five in future. In addition, Kombiverkehr has increased the number of trains running between Germany and Verona, Italy, by ten additional departures per week. This brings the total number of weekly departures to 120. The company has also added a train on the route between Duisburg and Hamburg which has connections to and from the German Baltic Sea ports as well as various ports in northern Europe. The service operates five times per week. Another train will be added to the Duisburg to Rostock route on 16 January which should run three to five times a week.
