Japan/South Korea: Locker delivery option offered by DHL Express
CEP Research, 16 Oct 2017, online:-
DHL Express has started delivering international parcels to lockers in Japan and South Korea. In Japan, the Germany-based courier partnered Packcity Japan to add pick-up and drop-off terminals as an alternative delivery option. The lockers are spread across 255 locations, such as supermarkets and rail stations, in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.
In South Korea, DHL Express has signed an MoU with the Seoul City Metropolitan government to access Safe Lockers for its On Demand Delivery service. Recipients can choose the locker option by clicking on a text message link received before delivery. They will then get a text message containing a password that opens the designated locker. The 187 Safe Lockers are located across Seoul's 25 districts at locations such as bus stations and subways.
