Swedish MEP Fredrick Federley (ALDE) is planning to bring an action for failure to act against the European Commission regarding the insufficient observance of the EU's rules on animal transports. The rules for animal transports are unequally implemented in the different member countries, and Federley points out in particular that the follow-up of this process by the European Commission is poor. He says that the European Parliament is running out of patience, and adds that if the Commission fails to act he will take it to court. First, however, Federley plans to present an implementation report to find out how the rules are observed and how to bring about a more even observance in the different countries.
