The German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) has launched its own logistics platform called Discovery. Through the platform VW is aiming to increase the quality of data communication and improve the efficiency of its transport logistics. The platform will combine the activities of VW's over 5,000 suppliers and logistics partners. Discovery is gradually being launched across Europe. By the beginning of 2018 the platform will be used by all of VW's European suppliers.
