Germany: Loadfox offering digital solutions for capacity utilisation
Die Deutsche Verkehrszeitung, 28 Mar 2017, p5:-
The German start-up company Loadfox, a company jointly founded by the German commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus and the US-based investment company BCG Digital Ventures, is offering digital solutions for logistics companies to improve capacity utilisation through its online platform. The aim of the platform is to improve the capacity utilisation of land transport in Europe. The Loadfox platform uses algorithms that combines part loads to profitable trips and find full loads for empty returning trips. This allows for truck capacities to be better used and increasing a customer's profitability. The system allows for freight forwarding companies to choose which partner they want to work with. The first companies involved with the platform were medium-sized companies. Loadfox is expecting more companies to use the platform in the foreseeable future. The company is also looking for new investors.
