Gunnar Svenson from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has further developed a calibrated route finder ("Krönt Vägval") for road transports in his doctoral thesis. This should make it easier for finding the best way in wood transports and the forest industry. It contributes also to reduced fuel use and emissions of greenhouse gases. Svenson studied aspects such as inclination and curves influencing road transports.
