Sweden: Flexiwaggon applies for loan to develop new wagon
Ny Teknik, 24 Jan 2017, online:-
Swedish company Flexiwaggon has applied for a SEK 10mn (EUR 1.05mn USD 1.13mn) loan from the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) regarding funding for a new prototype of its lorry carrier rail wagon Flexiwagon. Jan Eriksson, CEO of Flexiwaggon, states that the new prototype will contain 60% less components, making it more robust as well as capable of handling more difficult conditions. The company aims to deliver a wagon which reduced the reliance on fossil-based fuels, where Eriksson states that the Paris Agreement has facilitated increased interest in the company's solution. The new prototype is expected to cost SEK 20mn with three months of required construction time. The product has already garnered interest from German and Dutch companies.
