In 2016 grocery retailers in Ukraine increased the number of stores by 30% YoY. A total of 577 outlets was launched. Despite the crisis and decreasing purchasing power, retail chains continued development. In 2016 the main retail deals included the ATB chain buying the Barvinok chain, the Lotok chain acquiring supermarkets Domashniy 2/15 and five stores Evropeyskiy. According to GT Partners Ukraine, ATB has become the leader by the number of opened stores, followed by Fozzy Group (59) and Nash Kray.
