Denmark: APM Terminals plans growth in Aarhus
Jyllands-Posten, 27 Nov 2016, online:-
Container terminal company APM Terminals, owned by Danish business conglomerate A.P. Møller-Mærsk, has increased activity at Port of Aarhus with the intention to focus on attracting several major container lines to Aarhus. The terminal has increased turnover of containers from 399,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2012 to 442,000 in 2015. Newly appointed Managing Director Steen Davidsen at ATM Terminals stated that the growth strategy includes gaining more customers as well as attracting industry and distribution centres to the city of Aarhus. The aim is to become a North European Hub for container alliances, he concluded.
