Germany: Cabinet approves Maritime Agenda 2025 initiative
Die Deutsche Verkehrszeitung, 13 Jan 2017, p4:-
The German Cabinet has approved a new initiative called Maritime Agenda 2025 that includes nine points of focus. The main aim of the initiative is to keep the German maritime industry competitive as well as to secure and expand the industry's leadership in technology. The German Federal Government and the German states will also be better coordinated under the plan. Other areas of focus will be on the environment and connecting offshore wind farms with the maritime-based economy. The maritime industry is significant for Germany, as it has an annual turnover of approximately EUR 50bn (USD 56.16bn).
