Germany: Port in Hamburg sees highest volume of handled cargo

According to the German online data portal Statista, the German port in Hamburg saw the highest volume of handled cargo country-wide in 2015, when over 8,000 TEUs were handled, down by 9.3% over the previous year. The port in Bremerhaven followed with less than 6,000 handled TEUs, down by 4.3%. In addition, the port in Wilhelmshaven let register the highest rate growth in the volume of handled freight at sea ports in Germany, with an increase of 536.2%. The increase rate was 8.8% in Cuxhaven, while the remaining German sea ports of Kiel, and Lübeck experienced a drop in the volume of handled goods of 8.6% and 2.5% respectively.
