Sweden: Delay in kilometre tax investigation
Svensk Åkeritidning, 18 Oct 2016, online:-
The investigation concerning the introduction of a Swedish kilometre road wear tax for heavy vehicles will not meet the deadline of 9 December 2016. Chairman of the investigation Vilhelm Andersson has announced that a further two months will be required. According to speculations, the tax could amount to up to SEK 26 (EUR 2.68 USD 2.95) per ten kilometres. It has been concluded that controls will be carried out by cameras in up to 400 different locations throughout the country. Controls by authority personnel will also be carried out. Failure to pay the tax will lead to sanctions.
