Transportnet.se, 09 Dec 2016, online:-
Swedish Chalmers University of Technology has launched research project AKTA which aims at developing increased automation in logistics systems. The objective is to find automation solutions for all parts of the material supply chain. Project leader Robin Hanson at Chalmers has stated that this may include automated warehouse logistics, automatic guided vehicles (AGV), smart glasses and order picking robots. He has further announced that the possibilities for human and robotic interaction will be assessed. Challenges include retaining reliability, quality and flexibility levels in the automated processes. The project also includes a number of major companies such as heavy equipment manufacturer Volvo Group, logistics company Schenker and conveyor manufacturer FlexLink. The ultimate objective is to launch new solutions in the Swedish industry.
