UK: Extreme lorry tailbacks at ports could follow no EU customs deal
City AM, 07 Sep 2017, Online:-
Extreme lorry tailbacks could become an almost daily occurrence if the UK leaves the EU without a new customs arrangement, according to the boss of the British Ports Association. Richard Ballantyne said no customs deal could also led to higher costs for businesses and consumers, as well as wastage of fresh produce. Ballantyne said Dover would be hardest hit, but other roll-on, roll-off ports would also be affected.
