China/Germany: CEVA Logistics unveils new rail service

Netherlands-based logistics company CEVA Logistics has introduced a new rail service between China and Germany, with an aim to save two days as compared to other routes and offer cost savings to the customers. The new year-round rail service will start in Shilong in southern China's Guangdong province and end in Hamburg, Germany, with a station-to-station lead time of 17-19 days. The new surthern route covers stations including Malaszewicze in Poland, Brest in Belarus, Zabakalsky in Russia and Manzhouli in China. CEVA provides real-time tracking of trains via its web portal in order to offer total visibility to customers throughout the journey. Meanwhile, the company also operates a 'northern route' from China to Europe and a 'middle route' via Mongolia to Europe.
