Germany: Confirmation of two DB appointments postponed
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, 21 Jul 2017, Online:-
German railway services provider Deutsche Bahn (DB) is considering Jürgen Wilder, the current head of DB Cargo, as head of freight traffic and logistics. Sabina Jeschke, an Aachen-based mechanical engineering professor and computer scientist, is being considered as head of digitalisation and technology. It was expected they would be confirmed in their new positions on 20 July 2017. However, DB announced that the extraordinary meeting to confirm the appointments had been postponed. The newspaper says that the postponement was caused because of opposition from a federal politician who is on DB's supervisory board; because a majority vote in favour of the candidates was not certain, the meeting was postponed.
