Stanley Wirak, chairman of Sandnes Municipality Norway, and Bjarte S. Dagestad, chairman of Forsand Municipality, have written to Chairman of the County Council, proposing that local authorities take over operation and maintenance of the ferry quays in Oanes and Lauvvik. Wirak said that a takeover would be beneficial for both parties, as the county would not have to worry about expenses and the municipalities could ensure that the only direct connection between Sandes and Forsand would stay open also after the Ryfast tunnel opens in 2019.
