UK: SynthoTec enhances productivity by using ABB IRB 2600 robot
China Bearing Commercial Community, 28 Nov 2016, online:-
By using an ABB IRB 2600 robot to stack and unload products during the unmanned night shift, productivity has been enhanced by UK-based precision moulded bearing cages and engineering grade polymers products manufacturer SynthoTec. In a six-fold improvement over the formerly-installed Cartesian system, the six-axis system by Swiss power grids, industrial automation, robotics and electrification products manufacturer ABB may function for 20,000 hours before requiring a service and has a maximum payload capacity of 20kg. The ABB IRB 2600 can be mounted in numerous configurations, such as shelf mounted, inverted, wall, tilted and floor.
Besides offering the best acceleration and accuracy in its class, the ABB IRB 2600 has a working range optimized for arc welding, machine tending and material handling. As part of efforts to probe the unloader applications and grow output, SynthoTec cooperated with UK-based robotic systems integrator Geku Automation. With a cycle time of slightly more than 18 seconds, six bearing cages are produced by one of SynthoTec's moulding machines. A robot stacks the bearing cages onto pallets, after unloading them concurrently.
