According to figures from the German statistical office Statistisches Bundesamt, the number of employees in the German transport and storage sector increased by 2.4% in 2016. The turnover in the sector went up by 1.2%. In the fourth quarter of 2016, there was a 2% increase in the number of employees in the sector, while there was also a 3.2% growth in turnover. The transport and storage sector is made up of all methods of transport, pipeline transport, storage, and other transport-related services.
