The Danish container shipping company Maersk Line has said it is to pay EUR 3.70bn (USD 3.97bn) to the German food group Oetker Group for the acquisition of its shipping subsidiary Hamburg Süd. Maersk Line said it expects to complete the acquisition by the end of 2017. The transaction has already been approved by US and EU regulatory authorities as well as by Maersk Line shareholders and the board of management of Dr. Oetker.
