In 2016 Slovak state-run rail freight company ZSSK Cargo Slovakia recorded a profit of EUR 123,000 (USD 138,762), which was significantly better than the expected profit of EUR 27,000. In 2015 its profit was EUR 77,000. The company's overall debt at the end of 2016 amounted to EUR 116mn, of which bank loans stood at EUR 70mn, EUR 19mn were liabilities from the financial leasing. The unpaid liabilities for the use of railways to the railway infrastructure operator ZSR amounted to EUR 27mn. In 2015 the company's debt was EUR 129.6mn.
