Sweden: KTH study shows possibilities for goods transports at night
Svensk Åkeritidning, 08 Jun 2017, online:-
A new study by the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) shows that goods transports can be conducted also at night time in city centres. Several measures can be applied to reduce noise and thus provide possibilities for changes in legislation. This includes less noisy trucks based on natural gas or electricity as well as the use of another type of asphalt around stores. Every truck used in night service enables a reduction of three trucks from the morning rush hour.
Truck manufacturers Scania and Volvo, as well as transportation companies and producers of other related equipment are involved in the research.
